About us

Our roots & story

We are a small grass root NGO of locals from Kherson region — from left and right bank who care about our homeland.

Founded in 2014, Union of Help to Kherson is a community-based, registered, Ukrainian NGO that serves as a central hub for local entrepreneurs. When the war came to Ukraine in February 2022, we completely reshaped the organization and are now focused on humanitarian aid. Now, we are leveraging the support of a vast global network to launch a grassroots initiative funneling financial resources to local, trusted volunteers in Kherson to provide the basic necessities to those in need.

From day 1 of full-scale russian invasion we began resourcing and mobilizing volunteers on-the-ground in Kherson to buy fresh food, purchase old inventory, and deliver what those most vulnerable —  refugees from bombed villages, the elderly, the disabled, orphanages, and people in hospitals — need the most to survive. As local groups and volunteers were financed on an ad hoc basis by people, Union of Help to Kherson stepped in to scale their efforts and reach as many people and refugees in the Kherson region as possible.

Since 2022 we have grown a lot. Now an internationally established and trusted partner in Kherson for many organizations worldwide — we continue our mission of supporting most vulnerable people in Kherson with aid that they need most.

Currently, we have more than 30 volunteers on the ground in the Kherson region directly providing aid, in addition to more than 10 volunteers globally supporting fundraising efforts including writing and sharing updates on our work, directly requesting donations from their networks, holding fundraisers, cultivating major donors, and identifying/writing grant proposals to support our efforts.

Our principles focus on providing most vital aid directly to the people

We channel international aid to Kherson region and ensure that 100% of the donations end up making impact on the ground. As we’re a small and local NGO — we strive to keep every donor updated on how their money supported the locals — see regular updates on our Facebook page here or reach out directly
